Julius Caeser Loftin was the son of Gray Gean Loftin and Pricilla Badgett.
On December 18, 1867 he married Sallie Ann Russell the daughter of Whitson Russell and Dicey Lassiter Russell in Davidson County, NC.
Together he and Sallie Ann had four children, Whitson Lee Loftin, James Fletcher Loftin, Frances (Fannie)Isabell Loftin (Ford), and Priscilla May Loftin (Boyet or Boyett).
Julius C. Loftin, 21 year old farmer of Davidson County, enlisted in Company F, 7th NC Infantry on August 10, 1861 as a private. He was wounded in action June 27, 1862 at Gaines Mill, VA. He was wounded in action again November 1, 1862 (probably in a skirmish near Blackwater Creek, eastern VA). He was wounded in action (right thigh) May 3, 1863 at Chancellorsville, VA. He was promoted to Sergeant December, 15 1863 and to First Sergeant May 12, 1864. He was paroled April 28, 1865 at Greensboro, NC.
Gray Gene Loftin, his father, was a private in Company G, 6th Senior Reserves which became 76th NC Infantry Regiment.
Gray Gene Loftin died in The Confederate Hospital at Wilmington North Carolina, Hospital #4 on November 07, 1864 from typhoid fever.
In Paris, Texas Julius C. Loftin was a farmer.
