Chester F. Mika Sr., 84 of Nuangola, died Sunday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Ashley, he was the son of the late Martin and Catherine (Wnotzec) Mika. He attended Penn State Extension School, Wilkes-Barre. After World War II, he was a body and fender instructor at G.I. Schools and a welder at Foster Wheeler Corp., Mountiantop. He was also the proprietor of Helen's Horseshoe Bar, Ashley, and Pine View Inn, Nuangola. He was a member of St. Mary's Maternity Church, Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Ralph, and sisters, Edna Uhlatoski and Sophie Bogut.
Thank you all who leave flowers for my grandfather. I appreciate it and I know he does too. Pop-pop have fun tending God's bar in heaven. We love and miss you everyday.

Pop-pop they tore down Helen's Horseshoe Bar in Ashley. When Uncle Ron came to St. Louis for Easter he gave dad a brick from the old place and he has a brick. Sorry to see the old place go|
