Arriving in Vietnam Dale 26 May 1968 Dale
was assigned to Kilo Company,3rd Battalion,
3rd Marine Regiment,3rd Marine Division.
Kilo Company was patrolling in the vicinity
of Hill 861,5 kilometers northwest of Khe
Sanh Airfield when the Marines encountered
hostile forces.Dale died as a result of gunshots
to the entire body from hostile automatic
weapon fire and fragmentation wounds to the
entire body from hostile mortar fire.
Survived by his mother,Bonnett V Carmichael,
a sister;Carla and two brothers;Dennis and
David Carmichael all of Freetown,IN and his
father;Carl Carmichael E of unknown address.
