It is with great sadness that I am adding my other Granny's name to Find a Grave. I love my Granny so much and will miss her more than words. She lived a long life but that still doesn't make her passing any easier.
A stroke, 10 years ago, robbed her of the use of her right hand and most of the use of her right leg. She had been in a wheel chair since. She could no longer quilt or cook...both passions, that she truly missed. The past several years she was becoming forgetful and feeling even more alone. She was visited frequently, but she still felt depressed. Lately she began praying to die and go on to Heaven and get her new body. God answered Granny's prayers on New Year's Day.
Willie Fairse Levi Aud, 85, of Sale Creek, died on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, in a local hospital from complications from a fall and heart condition.
She was a member of Sale Creek Church of God and the Sale Creek Sunshine Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Aud; and son, Frank Hodge; daughter, Martha Jane Hodge; and parents, William and Laura Levi.
She is survived by her sons, Clarence Hodge, Gerald Hodge, Howard Hodge and David Aud; daughters, Lorene Dunwoody, Cheryl Keith and Frankie Lewis; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She's Gone Home
Her aging hands are folded
As she sits there in her chair
Another day spent all alone
Thinking no one seems to care.
The years pass by so slowly
Her heart is filled with pain
Oh what she'd give to go back in time
With a house full once again!
Has she been forgotten?
The months have turned to years
Inside she's died a hundred times
And cried a million tears.
Someone is there to see her
She quietly waits inside
He gently beckoned to her
Her arms were open wide.
She wanted so to see Him
And called to Him each night
The emptiness has disappeared
For now He holds her tight.
Her aging hands are folded
The grace of God she's known
With eyes now closed in restful sleep
He came to take her home.

Granny, As I was walking through my house today I suddenly thought of you as (I often do) but this time the memories slipped out of my eyes and down my face. I miss you so much and would love to be able to step back in time and savor every moment with yo...(Read more)|
