Friends may call at Cadieu Funeral Home, Menominee on Wednesday, May 7, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. for Gary Leigh Allgeyer, 62, of N1710 M-35, Menominee. Further visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 8, from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Pete Carli will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee. A memorial fund has been established in his name. He died Monday, May 5 at his home.
Born on Aug. 24, 1945, he was the son of Virgil Allgeyer and the late Grace (Juengling) Allgeyer and was a 1963 graduate of Menominee High School.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and was a life member of the VFW Post 1887. He worked at LE Jones Company in Menominee, Mi. for 37 years, retiring in January of 2008. He also worked for 25 years in the family business and became owner/operator of Allgeyer's Saw Service.
He is survived by his wife, Penny; three daughters, Mrs. Scott (Teresa) Scherer of Appleton and Tina and Melissa; a step daughter, Mary Ann (Cliff) Greenwood of Marinette; a step son, John Hartz of Virginia; his father; many grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ron (Yvonne) Beauchamp of Negaunee, Mi., Mrs. Dennis (Karen) Larsen, Mrs. Steve (Judith) Neal and Mrs. Larry (Donna) Simmons, all of Menominee; three brothers, Randy (Sharon) Allgeyer of Menominee, Wayne (Melissa) Allgeyer of Colorado and Tim (Kelly) Allgeyer of Wausaukee.
A daughter, Tammy and his mother, Grace, preceded him in death.
