Alice was born in England and immigrated to the United States in 1886. She married Julian Wellington Lane at the age of 19. She had nine children and fifteen grandchildren. She was active in Masonic organizations and the Episcopal Church. Alice worked with the poor and helped many of them to survive the great depression. She was politically active in the Democratic party and once attended the inauguration of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She is very missed by her grandchildren.
