Jessie "Mother Jessie" Rush Brown, 82, of Corsicana passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Ross and Johnson Mortuary and from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1700 S. Business 45. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lifeline Fellowship Family Church, 5301 W. State Highway 31, with Pastor Joseph Johnson Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Dawson Cemetery in Dawson. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Gary Johnson, Quinton Johnson, Fisher Johnson III, Curtis Johnson Jr., Myron Rush and Hubert Rush Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be sons. Mrs. Brown was born Dec. 25, 1925, in Tehuacana. She was a faithful member of Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ, where she served as the mother of the church. She was preceded in death by husbands, Matthew Rush Sr. and Frank Ernest Brown; and three children, Robbie Jean Rush, Barbara Ann Rush and Roy Anthony Rush. Mrs. Brown is survived by 10 children, Gladiola Perkins and husband Willie of Fort Worth, Ruby Jane Rush Pinkard of Corsicana, Matthew Rush Jr. of Dallas, Jesse Ray Rush, Hubert Glenn Rush, John Edward Rush, and Michael Dean Rush, all of Corsicana, Mary Lee Rush Johnson and husband Curtis Sr. of DeSoto, Carol Vernita Davis Lumar, and Terri Lynn Colbert and husband Robert, both of Corsicana; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elvia Cephus and Viola Reese and husband Joe, all of Corsicana, and Rosell Fisher of Fort Worth; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a special friend, Mrs. Johnnie Washington, and the Johnson Memorial Church family. Arrangements by Ross and Johnson Mortuary.
