Rachel Trent Levesque

Rachel was born on Dec. 21, 1915 near Neosho, Missouri, the oldest daughter of Jesse Trent and Susan Wood. She died on September 16, 2010 in American Fork, Utah at the age of 94.
Rachel was a New Deal Democrat who worked at the Treasury Department in Washington D.C. before WWII. She moved back to Missouri and joined the Civil Air Patrol as a pilot, using her family's Piper Cub. Rachel lived most of her adult life in the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to Utah in 1980. She was the director of the USO at the San Francisco Airport during the Vietnam War. After that war, she directed the San Mateo RSVP. She then became the director of one of the first senior assisted living centers, Casa de Redwood in Redwood City. Rachel became a matchmaker in her later years. She owned the Continental Marriage Bureau until the age of 78.
She married Alston Levesque in 1942. They were later divorced. She was preceded in death by her brothers Clarence, Marion and Everett Trent; her sisters Mary, Eunice and Aileen and her beloved daughter, Deborah Levesque Snowden. She is survived by one brother, Ralph (Pat) Trent; five in-laws, Edna Ruth Trent, Georgia Trent, Hank Smith, Shirley Fairchild and Wesley Levesque; two sons, Ray (Gina) Levesque, Steven (Robyn) Levesque; one daughter, Sherri (Bill) Park and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rachel loved her family. She loved to be busy, to hear a good joke, to throw a big party and to spoil her grandchildren. She studied Home Economics in college and loved to work in her garden. She was a grand lady and we will all miss her. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Oct 2 at the LDS church located at 14400 South and Redwood Road in Bluffdale.
