The following account was written by Dorothy Aileen Trent:
"My father (Jesse Jr.) had the 80 acres deeded to him by Grandpa Trent. He sold it. He decided to move mother (Susan) and the four children, Clarence, Marion, Rachel and Everett to Florida where his father was already living. They went by train. Mother was pregnant with me. When they got there, Daddy found a house out in the country. Mother said there were snakes and spiders. She didn't like Florida at all, especially living in the country and not knowing anyone. She didn't stay there too long. One day she started packing and told Daddy she was moving back to Missouri. If he wanted to live there he could but she wasn't. So, of course, Daddy went back to Missouri also.

They moved into a small white house up by Hill & Hodges mine, on land that had been purchased from Grandpa Trent for the mine. It was the house that I (Dorothy Aileen Trent) was born in. Not long after that, Grandpa Trent gave Daddy the old Trent homestead and we moved into it. Lived there all but one year that we lived in Carthage, MO. Later, we moved back to the farm and lived there until it burned around 1935. We moved back to 807 South McGregor St. in Carthage, MO. My parents lived there until their death."

There is a newspaper story about the fire titled, "Trent Farm Home Burns".

His driver's license from 1962 reads, "Jessie Hausley Trent, 807 S. McGregor, Carthage, Jasper, Mo. His birthdate is given as 1-24-88, weight 205, height 5.9", hair gray, eyes blue."

In the 50th Anniversary booklet there is a list of those who attended their original wedding: "Anna Trent, Emery Cupps, Rosie Cupps and Clara Wood."
