|Birth: ||Aug. 31, 1852|
|Death: ||Oct. 28, 1918|
Died of the flu. According to Bernice Hines Nimmo (granddaughter), Anna was sick only about three days, but she hadn't really been well for years. Everyone else living in the house at that time had the flu and survived. In an effort to reduce the spread of the disease, all public places were closed. As a result the funeral for Anna was held at home, outside.
Dorothy Aileen Trent writes, "Anna was from Maryland and died of the flu. Daddy had to go see about the grave. He had just recovered from the flu himself. It was rainy and cold and he was afraid he would get sick again. He had a cement vault built and saw to all the arrangements. They lived on the old home place by Red Mine."
According to Anna's certificate of death, her birthday was 19 Oct. 1852. Her death date was 29 Nov 1918. I have a copy of the actual certificate. The informant, Mattie (Martha Jane Means) was married to James Harvey Trent. Rachel Trent says she was born 31 August 1852 in Maryland.
Roe is spelled Rowe and maybe Row by some descendents. In her obituary in the Granby Miner-Missouri, it says, "Mrs. Anna Luvina (Row) Trent...Mrs. Trent was a native of Delaware, being born in that state on 1 Sep 1852, coming to Missouri with her parents when she was seven years of age...Faithful member of the Church of God. Had 10 children. Survived by one sister, Tina Williams of Galena and one brother, Robert Row of Granby."
