Called "Bonnie" by her family, she was the daughter of Uberto & Susannah Jane Smith Wright of Glasgow, KY. She married John B. McConnell. They had 8 children, of whom only 3 survived. The family moved to Texas in the early 1880s. After her husband's death she moved to Colorado to be with her children and grandchildren.
