John was as good as gold to us neighbor kids, he took me wtih his kids to anything that he could.
I saw my first ball game because of him, I even went to boy scout events.
He was a scout leader for as long as I could remember, even though he was on the road most of the time driving a truck to feed his family.
He served our country in world warII and Korea
I lovedhis sense of humor and he called my Dad stoney and my dad called him Rocky, they acted like prize fighters.
I sure missed him after he passed, he would have loved all of his grandchildren and he would have been proud of his children.
He was also a World WarII veteran
