Ralph was the son of the late Thomas O. and Delta (Schoonober) Burner. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 27, Masonic Lodge, and the Order of the Eastern Star. He received his bachelor's degree in arts at the Alderson-Broaddus College in West Virginia. He received his bachelor's degree in science in medicine from the West Virginia University, School of Medicine. He graduated in 1951 from the Medical College of Virginia.
A retired physician, he was employed at the Holzer Clinic. He was a member of the American Medical Association, Academy of Family Physicians, and American college of Emergency [Physicians].
Surviving are his wife, Mary (Harris) Burner; one son, Ralph Jr.,two daughters, Janice and Joyce seven grandchildren; and one brother, Earl
American Legion Post 27 and VFW 4464 folded and presented the flag at the graveside.
