OBITUARY
Sarah. J., affectionate daughter of Albert and Emily Thomasson and beloved wife of George R. Carey, departed this life at her late home south of Agosta, December 1, 1906, aged sixty-five years, seven months and twenty-five days. She was born in Bowling Green township, Marion county, April 6, 1841. January 1, 1861, she was united in marriage to George R. Carey. To them were born nine children. Two died in early childhood; four sons and three daughters remain of this union. For some years past she was in enfeebled health, a victim of that dreaded disease, cancer of the stomach. She retained consciousness until the last and assured everyone that she was fully prepared to die. She made many arrangements touching her business affairs and also funeral service, choosing her minister, pall-bearers, etc., and departed this life full content and happy. She was an excellent neighbor, a true friend, a faithful wife and a kind, loving mother. The funeral service was held December 4 at the Agosta M. E. church. A very large number of neighbors and friends were present. Rev. J. A. Sutton, of West Mansfield, assisted by Rev. J. C. Sinclair, had charge of the service, following which the remains were laid to final rest in the Agosta cemetery.
