David L. Finch, 62, of New Brighton, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, in Friendship Ridge.
Born Nov. 29, 1947, in New Brighton, he was a son of the late Lawrence D. Finch and Betty Best Finch Kraus. He was a steelworker having worked at B&W as a time keeper in bar conditioning at Wallace Run and Col-Fin. He also worked for the ARS Coffee Service and the Butler Auto Auction. He was the former owner of Brad & Dave's Hide Out in New Brighton.
The ultimate sportsman, Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing and competition shooting. He loved to camp and hunt, bagging many deer. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and the Cast Bullet Association. He was a member of the Beaver Valley Combat Pistol League (lst Place Team in 1983), the Beaver Valley Rifle and Pistol Club, Champion C.B.A. Shooter at Camp Perry, Hi-Power Rifle Competition and technical writer for the American Rifleman and C.B.A.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy Jo Spratt and her husband, Bill, Beaver Falls; two nephews, Brian Z. Volinic and Benjamin L. Spratt, both of Beaver Falls; a niece, Sarah L. Spratt, New Brighton; a great-niece, Lillian R. Spratt, whom he called the Little One; an aunt, Joan Hartman, New Brighton; his girlfriend, Jacque Berry and several cousins.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1901 Seventh Ave., BEAVER FALLS.
Private interment will follow in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton.
