Major League Baseball Player. The 6-foot, 175-pound left-handed pitcher worked in seven games for the Chicago White Sox in 1951 with no decisions and a 3.86 earned run average. He gave up 12 hits and 10 walks and struck out eight in 14 innings. He had been picked up by the Brooklyn Dodgers from the St. Louis Cardinals' system in the minor-league draft on December 4, 1950 and sold to the White Sox on August 30, 1951. He was the father of Ross Grimsley, the left-hander who pitched for the Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles, Montreal Expos and Cleveland Indians from 1971 to 1980 and in 1982. (bio by: Ron Coons)
