Kennyth Baker, Jr., 56, of rural Wamego, Kansas, died Monday, June 29, 2009 at Salina Regional Health Center. He was a life-long resident of the area.
Kenny was born December 12, 1952, in Holton, Kansas, the son of Kennyth and Elna Redmon Baker. He attended local schools and Wamego High School.
For thirty-eight years, Kenny worked for The McCall Pattern Company as a band saw operator. He attended Lighthouse Baptist Church. Earlier he attended the Bible Baptist Church and was active in the Brigade program. He enjoyed camping, skeet shooting , hunting, fishing, wood working, auto mechanics and karate. Kenny loved the Lord and enjoyed helping others.
Kenny married Yolanda Martwick on May 13, 1994 in Wamego, Kansas. She survives at their home.
He is also survived by his parents, Kennyth, Sr. and Elna, Wamego; three sons, Leslie Baker and his wife, Megan, Concordia, Aaron Baker and his wife, Patricia, Wamego and Kolby Baker of the home; five grandchildren, Luke, Logan, Hannah, Noah and Isaac; five sisters, Bonnie Baker, Topeka, Cheryl Yonning and her husband, Gary, Wamego, Barbara Molden and her husband, Richard, St. George, Judith Reinerio and her husband, Rick, Manhattan and Karie Baker, Topeka; one brother, Kevin Baker and his wife, Martie, Louisville. He was preceded in death by his son, Kalob Baker in 1996.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in St. George. Reverend James Lowry will be officiating. Burial will follow at Wamego City Cemetery.
