Mr. Robert Earl Grisham Sr., 67, Rogersville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001.Earl was born in Rogersville on Dec. 2, 1934, to his late parents, Lenon Joseph Sr. and Ada Grisham.He was a 1954 graduate of Lauderdale County High School, also a 1958 graduate of Florence State. He received a masters degree from Montevallo University in 1974. He devoted his whole life to young people in the community of Rogersville as a teacher and a coach. Coach Grisham was the only coach ever to win a football state championship in a Lauderdale County school.His granddaughter, Caroline Grace Grisham, preceded him in death. He was a member ofFirst Baptist Church in Rogersville. He devoted his life to his family.The funeral service will be Thursday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Rogersville, with Brother Bertis Ray and Brother Tommy Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in Bedingfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Visitation was at the church Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Elkins East Chapel will be assisting the family.Mr. Grisham is survived by his loving wife and companion of 44 years, Patricia Ann Bramlett Grisham; sons, Robert Earl Grisham Jr. and wife, Karen, of Anderson, Patrick Shane Grisham and wife, Beth, of Rogersville; daughters, Kathy Jaynes of Florence, Sonya Grisham Pennington and husband, Steve, of Rogersville, Lori Ann Grisham of Rogersville; sisters, Cornelia Cornelius, Audrey Haraway and Patsy Slaton, all of Rogersville; brother, Lenon Joseph Grisham Jr. of Rogersville; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Eddie Lamar, Terry Ingrum, Phillip Butler, Brent Green, Brandon Hale, Kevin Sledge, Tony Howard and Chris Mangerum.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the community for their love, support and prayers throughout his career and illness.
