Sally Foley Bailey, was born on Tuesday, November 7, 1898, to Lodie and Burl Foley. In Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was sister to Lucille Foley Whitfield, Alice Foley, Lena Foley Rhodes, and Bertha Foley Pearson. Sally, her mother, and all of her sisters moved to Chicago, Illinois, in 1918. Chicago would be her home for the rest of her life.
Sally married William Leon Bailey on Monday, September 17, 1923, they would be married for 35 years, until William's death in1959. To this union was born their only child, Burdella Bailey.
Sally was a member of the Eighth Church of Christ Scientist in Chicago, Illinois, until her death.
Sally died on Monday, September 28, 1987, at her daughter Burdella's home 10315 South Rhodes Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.
Sally was survived by her daughter, Burdella B. Hawkins, son-in-law, Dennis M. Hawkins, grandchildren: Dennis William (Deborah), and Michael Bailey (Ann), Great-grandchildren: Burdella, Monique, Devin, Kamia, and Dennis.
Sally was buried beside her husband William, in the historical Lincoln Cemetery.
