He was the son of the late William and Clara (Malzahn) Bruenning.On October 2, 1937, at St. Casimir's Catholic Church in Kenosha, he was united in marriage to Helen
Zdanowicz. She preceded him in death on March 7, 1998.
Henry worked at Peter Pirsch & Company, The American Brass Company and American Motors Corporation. In 1980, he retired from Famco Machine Company as a Tool and Die Maker.
He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge #34. Henry was an avid sportsman who enjoyed being outdoors. He loved fishing and enhanced the lives of many family members when he taught them how to fish.
He is survived by his two children, Henry "Hank" (Karen) Bruenning of Sarasota, FL and Joseph L. Bruenning of Kenosha; a sister, Sophie Nugent of Fort Wayne, IN; four grandchildren, Kim (Dick) Veech, Renee (Greg) Klein, John Bruenning and Nicole Martinez; and seven great grandchildren, Megan, Brian and Trevor Veech, Bradley, Riley and Adam Klein, and Alyssa Adamson.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Clarence, Carl, Fritz, Frank, William, John and August Bruenning; six sisters, Frieda Jones, Florence Willoughby, Bertha Bitter, Hilda Murphy, Minnie Dix and Clara in infancy; and a son, Thomas Bruenning.
