BESSIRE, GLENEASE

Glenease Bessire, age 70, of Waco died Thursday, April 4, 2002 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, April 6 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Visitation with the family will be 2:00-3:00PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bessire was born January 9, 1932, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to Jess and Nellie Mae Johnson Warden. She had lived in Waco since 1978, where she has made many life long friends. One of her greatest accomplishments was being a devoted mother and grandmother; she loved her grandchildren and will always be their “Nana”. Being a service wife, no matter where she moved she always stayed in touch with all of her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Terry Lee Thomas; sisters, Ann Carolyn Patterson and Jessie Mae Parker and brothers, William Ray Warden and Roy Ronald Warden.

Survivors include daughters, Carol Riggs of Hewitt and Cindy Knapek of West; son, Jerry Keith Thomas of Winder, Georgia; grandchildren, Terry Lee Thomas, Thomas Riggs, IV, Christopher Riggs, Trevor Thomas, Paige Knapek, and Michael Thomas; and her two best friends, Raymond Poteet and Neva Burns.

Pallbearers will be Keith Thomas, Eugene Knapek, Thomas Riggs, IV, Larry Knapek, Blaine Furman, and Gary Burns. Honorary pallbearers are her other grandsons; Christopher, Terry, Trevor, and Michael.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Lebanon Cemetery, c/o Roy Bessire, 104 Boleman Dr., Hewitt, TX 76643
