Patricia Elizabeth Downing, 69, died Sept. 26, 2003.

She was born July 13, 1934, in Cody, the youngest daughter of Carly Downing and Verna Dickerson. She attended Cody High School.
She had maintained her residence in Boulder, Colo., since 1974.
She married Ross MacKay of Alberta, Canada, on Aug. 15, 1952, and they divorced in 1955. She married Jerry Williamson on March 3, 1956, living in Casper and Worland. They divorced in 1973.
Ms. Downing was business manager of Washakie Memorial Hospital in Worland 1964-71, and office manager and bookkeeper at the Boulder Meridian Retirement Community and Boulder Church of Religious Science. From 1993 until her death, she worked at First Colorado Title Co. in Boulder.
She was an active member of the Boulder Forum of Republican Women and worked with the Citizens Commission on Human Rights to abolish the use of electric shock therapy. She volunteered at Boulder Community Hospital Gift Shop, public school programs, and was chairman and troop leader of the Girl Scout program in Worland, receiving a Kiwanis Award for her work.
She was proud of her Western heritage and enjoyed researching and discussing genealogy and lore, especially of her father, a member of Buffalo Bill's Wild West show and a founder of the Cody Stampede and Cody Nite Rodeo.
She loved jazz and jitterbug, bridge, pool, rodeos, singing around the campfire and was a tireless fan of her grandchildren's sporting events.
Diagnosed with lung cancer in 1997, she braved her illness and treatments with feistiness and an upbeat attitude that continues to inspire those who knew her. She remained active until a few weeks before her death.

She is survived by her son Doug MacKay of Atlanta, Ga., daughters Debi (Ron) Wirth, Chris (Steve) Ignelzi and Jennifer (Terry) Tobyne, and grandchildren Ashley MacKay, Griffin Ignelzi, Tate Ignelzi and Mackenzie Tobyne, all of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Carl and John Downing and sister Irene Downing.

A service will be at 10 a.m Saturday at Riverside Cemetery. A visitation and memorial service was in Boulder, Colo.
Contributions may be made to Pat Downing Memorial Fund, Attn: Colleen McBride, Bank One Gunbarrel Branch, 6300 Gunpark Drive, Boulder, Colo., 80301 to benefit children's programs and cancer research.
