Our amazing, precious mother, Karolyn Beall, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at home surrounded by her loving daughters. She is now truly home with God, our Lord and Savior, and her adoring husband, our incredible, loving father, Raymond A. Beall Jr.
Service: We will rejoice Karolyn's life at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Park United Methodist Church with reception to follow.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Karolyn's wish was for donations to be made to the Cochlear Implant Foundation at UT Southwestern Medical Center, attention Dr. Peter Roland; or Baylor University Medical Center-Sammons Cancer Center, 3500 Gaston Ave., Dallas, Texas 75246.
Karolyn was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Fort Worth and graduated from Pascal High School in 1953. She attended Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, serving as president and later winning the Twin Star Award for service. She was one of seven women in her business school when she graduated in 1957. On May 11, 1957, she married the love of her life, Ray. They had three daughters, Allison, Amy and Anne.
Karolyn enjoyed reading, playing bridge, the Dallas Women's Club, Garden Club and Cochlear Crusaders. She owned My Friend's Tearoom with Sally from 1979-1984. She loved traveling, especially her yearly trips to Carmel. She adored being with her friends, family and grandchildren.
We are so blessed to have had her as our mother - she was our role model, living her life selflessly, truly our hero! She led an inspiring life, modeling daily to so many how to face adversity with grace and an optimism that can only be found through a close relationship with God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Truett and Cecelia Kimzey of Fort Worth and her husband, Raymond Alexander Beall Jr.
Survivors: "Mom" leaves behind her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Allison Kimzey Beall Harper and husband, Steve, of College Station, Amy Beall Perry and husband, Rusty, of Dallas, Anne Beall Pogue and husband, Blake, of Dallas. "Mimi," as referred to by her 11 grandchildren, leaves numerous loving memories to David and Blake Terry, Shannon, Preston and Marshall Perry, Britt, Mack, Bryson, Bailey, Jake and Tucker Pogue; stepgrandchildren, Rachel and Grant Harper; brother, John Paul Kimzey and wife, Lane Anne, of Fort Worth; three nephews; numerous cousins, grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
