She married JR Smothers. in 1948 at Holly Springs, MS.
All of her friends and family called her "Faye."
She died of a massive stroke to the brain stem, caused by high blood pressure.
My Mom worked as a waitress for many years. It was a job that she loved. She worked for the "Belle Starr" in Phoenix and for many years at Manuel's Mexican Food. She had just gotten off work at "Julio's" in Mesa, when she had a stroke.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Hess "J.R." Smothers, her son, Bradley Stephen Smothers her Father, Thomas Alfred McGough and half brother, Walter Dimitroff.
She is survived by her children, James Thomas Smothers (now deceased), Vikki Smothers Shaw, Luana Smothers, Timothy Smothers and Tracy Smothers Spirko.
She is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Louise Lattimore (now deceased) and Carolyn "Joyce" Augenstein.
My Mom's ashes are scattered in the lower gulch at Jerome, Arizona at her request, along with her husbands and son, Tommy.
