Vicki S. Muchmore passed away May 4, 2007 at the age of 55. Vicki courageously battled cancer for nine years and was truly inspiring to everyone who met her. Her father, Albert Walter Smith, predeceased her. Vicki is survived by her husband, Charles J. Muchmore of Phoenix, Arizona; her mother, Margaret Virginia Smith, of Scottsdale, Arizona; her two sisters, Linda Devore of St. Joseph, Missouri and Kathy Jackson of Boca Raton, Florida; her two daughters, Adrienne E. Carp of Portland, Oregon and Lauren A. Carp of Delray Beach, Florida; a step-daughter, Kelly K. Muchmore and a grandson, Connor Muchmore, of Camano Island, Washington.
Vicki was a school psychologist for over 30 years in the Phoenix area. She was the first school psychologist for the opening of Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale Unified School District. Most recently, Vicki was the school psychologist at Carl Hayden High School in the Phoenix Unified School District.
Vicki loved to travel and attended several cooking schools around the world to feed her passion for cooking. Her many friends were the lucky beneficiaries of this as Vicki's guests during the frequent dinner parties she hosted in her home.
An avid athlete, Vicki enjoyed golf, tennis and yoga. She ran six marathons, including Boston, New York and Los Angeles as well as competing in various triathlons. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved to backpack and fly-fish.
Vicki leaves behind myriad friends as well as her family who will all miss her and were inspired by her valiant attitude toward her illness. She never complained, leaving us to complain only of her loss. Services were held at Messinger PInnacle Peak Mortuary 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd. Scottsdale 85255 , Sunday May 6, 2007 at 4:30 P.M.
