John served in the US Air Force as a radio technician in WWII in Cambridge, England from 1942-1945.

John drove a Greyhound Bus for 34 years. After he retired, he lived for a short time in England and returned to Missouri, where he lived for a year or more before returning to Arizona, his former home. His former wife preceded him in death December 30, 2001 in England.
He re-married in September 1981 to Muriel Taylor, making their years together 26 years.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Muriel, of the home; his sister, Lucille Rodgers, of Summersville, Missouri; his daughter, Kathleen, of Sun City, Arizona; son, John, of Phoenix, Arizona; three nieces and a nephew; three step-children and families of Portland and Salem, Oregon.
He was especially close to his step-grandchild, Jill Taylor Anderson, and her children, Dane and Amber. Following services in Oregon, he will be cremated.
There will be a memorial service in Summersville for family and friends with internment at Antioch Cemetery at a later date.
