Arthur Fred 'Art' Davis

A private memorial service will be held for Arthur Fred 'Art' Davis, 65, of Rhome.
Davis died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, in Rhome.
Born Jan. 12, 1945, in Slaton to Fred and Mary Davis, he grew up in Perrin and Weatherford and graduated from Perrin High School in 1964. Davis was a staff sergeant in the Air Force and served at U.S. bases in Okinawa from 1966-1970.
He was a former sheriff's deputy for Wise and Montague counties, and he owned and operated a trucking firm for several years and later worked at an auto mechanic and inspection service in Boyd.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter Nita Levy and husband, Jim, of El Reno, Okla.; sons, Raylon Davis and wife, Laura, of Paradise, Adam Davis, Russell Scroggins and wife, Judy, and Rod Scroggins and wife, Bonnie, of Boyd; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Davis Savage and husband, Jim Jones, of Fort Worth; and nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the U.S. War Memorial in Rhome or the American Cancer Society.
