Henry E. Hoover, 85, a lifelong resident of Lancaster township and for the last 50 years a resident of one mile west and one mile south of Majenica, Warren route three, died, at 7:06 p.m. Sunday in his home. He had been ill since December 12, 1947, and seriously ill the last three weeks. Mr. Hoover, a farmer, was born September 9, 1870, in Lancaster township to Levi and Lavina Shideler Hoover. His marriage was to Luella Thrift July 15, 1893. She died in March, 1907. The second marriage was June 4, 1832 to Mrs. Mary H. Will, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lela Shideler, Jefferson township, and Mrs. Edith M. Willour, Huntington; two sons, Herbert L. Hoover, Seattle, Wash., and Glenn F. Hoover, Muncie; six grandchildren, Jack, Nancy and Karen Hoover, Muncie; Mrs. Lloyd (Opal) Martin, Richmond; Mrs. Arthur (Mary) Winterholter, Lancaster township, and Phillip Shideler, Jefferson township; eight great-grandchildren, a step-daughter, Mrs. Ora (Josephine) Wiley, New Haven; a step-grandchild, Basil Wiley, and two step-great-grandchildren, Rex and Roger Wiley. Mr. Hoover was a member of the Salamonie Church of the Brethren at Lancaster. Bailey Mortuary. Salamonie Church of the Brethren. Rev. Conrad Snavely and the Rev. E. Paul Weaver, Mexico, officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster cemetery. Flowerbearers were Mrs. Mary Winterholter, Mrs. Barbara Shideler, Mrs. Opal Martin, Jack Hoover, Nancy Hoover, Karren Hoover, Larry Winterholter, Jerry Winterholter, Terry Shideler, Rex Wiley, Roger Wiley, Patricia McDaniel, Jay Winterholter, and Ronald Shideler.
