Phil Badillo, 66, of Baytown, TX was born August 13, 1943 in Andalusia, AL and passed away Friday, September 4, 2009 in a local hospital. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a retired Baytown Police Department Sergeant with 38 years of service. He had a passion for service and at the time of his retirement on January 30, 2007, he was the Baytown Police Department Training Coordinator.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Merle Badillo and is survived by his wife, Carol Howell Badillo of Baytown; father, Joe Badillo and wife, Myra of Saraland, AL; sisters and brother-in-law, Connie McCormick of Smyrna, GA and Sue and Charles Prall of Saraland, AL; brother, Jody Badillo of Marietta, GA; father-in-law, E. H. "Bill" Howell of Baytown; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Howell Allen of Baytown and Barbara and Collins Steward of Katy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Turner and Rev. Mike Proctor officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert P. "Bob" Merchant, Jim Mortensen, Greg Garrett, Sgt. Chris Goss, Sgt. Pam Erikson and Cpl. Bill Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. C. A. Riser, Jack Lindsey, Clint Johnson, Clarence Eldridge, Raymond Zycha and Frank Lambrecht.

Special thanks go to all members of the Baytown Police Department.
