IN LOVING MEMORIAM,
Dolores "Bunny" Estelle Colter, 81 of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 13, 2010. She is now reunited with the love of her life John Colter who passed away in 1996 after celebrating 48 years of marriage together.
Born on November 23, 1928 in Milo, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Elgin Leroy and Estelle (Decker) McSorley.
Bunny was born and raised in a small town in Maine. She met and married John in 1947 while he was working as a telegrapher. A job opportunity to work for New Departure came up for John in CT, so they moved to Plainville and started a family.
Bunny spent her time raising and caring for her family. Sunday gatherings for meals were a must for the family where all were able to enjoy her unique and creative meals.
Bunny was an active member of the Congregational Church of Plainville and worked in their Thrift Shop for years. Nothing excited her more than a good shopping trip where she could pick up more shoes or anything that had sequins in it. She was a deeply caring and vibrant personality and nearly sparkled as much as the clothes that she liked to wear. Most important to her though was her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the lights of her life. Bunny will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
She was a loving mother to Randy Colter and his wife Dena of Southington; and Jacqueline Posadas and her husband Jimmy of Plainville; her grandchildren David Posadas and his wife Cindy; Shannon Hughes and her husband Tom; John Colter; Adam Colter and his fiancée Angela; Brian Colter and his wife Amy; Nicole Polchies and her husband David; her great-grandchildren Megan, Ryan, Hannah, Zach, Alicia, Caedon, McKenna, Micah, Caylie, and Seth; her siblings Roy McSorley and his wife Pat of ME; Barry McSorley of ME; Donna Paul of ME; and Gail Burlock of ME; her daughter-in-law Pat Colter; her special niece Sandy Navarro; her life long friend Theresa St. Pierre; and her special neighbor of 40 years Della Kozakiewicz. She was predeceased by her sons Michael and Richard Colter; her brother Charlie McSorley; and her brothers-in-law Jack Paul, and Al Burlock
A celebration of Bunny's life will be held on Saturday April 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Plainville. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Hospital of Central CT at New Britain in care of the Dialysis Unit, 100 Grand St., New Britain, CT 06052.

You can only have one Mother
Patient kind and true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you.
When other friends forsake you,
To Mother you will return,
For all her loving kindness,
She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all.
Sweet Jesus, take this message,
To our dear Mother up above;
Tell her how we miss her,
And give her all our love.
