|Birth: ||1764, France|
|Death: ||Oct., 1832|
Mary was nicknamed "Polly Paris", presumably because she was born in France, in approximately 1764. Came to America with her father, a French soldier/"sutler" associated with Lafayette and the French Troops. Name was possibly a derivative of De au Boulogne, i.e. "of Boulogne, France". Some family letters have "D'Aubolieul" Family tradition says that since no one could pronounce her name, she was simply called "Polly from Paris". She was the wife of Obediah (Obadiah) Hardesty (Hardisty). Note that there were various spellings for their names.
Mary & Obediah were married November 12, 1784 in Virginia.
The grave is in some rough ground in a clump of trees behind the house at 51000 Rehm Rd, Saint Clairsville, Belmont County, Ohio.
