He died Monday evening at Eventide Nursing home where he had resided since 1972. He had undergone surgery in Aug. 1972 and had been in failing health since then.
Born in Russia March 10, 1887, Bedel came to the United States when he was 17 and settled in Windsor where he lived the rest of his life. He was a farmer and feeder.
He and Elizabeth Kaiser were married Jan. 11, 1911. She died April 21, 1932, and in August 1935 he married Mrs. Amalia Blehm, who died May 15, 1971.
Surviving are 2 daughters and one son; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 5 step-children; 17 step-grandchildren; 39 step-great-grandchildren, a three step-great-great-grandchildren.
