After moving to California from Albuquerque she settled down in the East Bay Area. She volunteered her services at several churches in the area before joining Bethany Baptist Church where she served on the Usher's board for many years. Essie J webb is survived by; Son- Leo L. Lemons, one grand daughter-Rana Lemons-Maneri, three very special loved ones- Beverly Davis of Phoenix, AZ and Esther and Clint Waller of Albuquerque, NM as well dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
