Jacob K. Thomas passed away early Monday morning at his home at 27 West California street in Kalispell after a very brief illness. Mr. Thomas was 54 years of age and came to Kalispell in 1928. Arrangements for funeral services are pending word from relatives at a distance and will be announced later by the Waggener & Campbell Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Jacob K. Thomas were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Waggener and Campbell chapel by Major Broad of the Salvation Army who was an acquaintance of the deceased for 34 years. During the services Don Shepard sang two solo selections, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. J. M. Carlson. The front of the chapel was banked solid with beautiful floral tributes and many friends attended the services. Those acting as pallbearers were M. R. Wood, H. F. Braaton, Hubert LaFrance, Archie McGlenn, George Johnson and D. T. Beardsley. Interment was in the Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
Jacob K. Thomas, son of Robert and Eliza Jenkin Thomas, was born January 28, 1888, at Hurley, Wisconsin. At the age of two he moved with his parents to Butte, Montana. He received his schooling and grew to manhood in Butte and became an employee of the Anaconda Copper Mining Company. He was married at Butte to Miss Tenny Brandis and three children were born of this union. Mrs. Thomas passed away in 1921. Mr. Thomas continued to make Butte his home and on January 6, 1923, was married to Miss Pearl Mae Yanicke and one child was born to them. The family moved to Kalispell in 1928 and have made their home here since that time. Mr. Thomas passed away at his home after a brief illness Monday, June 8, 1942, at the age of 54 years.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Mae Thomas, at home, and four children: Mrs. Lenore Flemming of Medford, Ore.; Clair Thomas at home; Chester Thomas, who is in the service and stationed at Fort Custer, Michigan; and Bettie Thomas at home. There is also one sister, Mrs. John Helman, of Butte, Montana, and many other relatives.
