Fred was born March 21, 1929, at Sandpoint, to Sue and George Fitzpatrick. He grew up in Sandpoint, attended schools there and graduated from high school in 1946. He also attended the University of Idaho. Fred then served in the Army for two years and then was on inactive duty for four years. He married Janice V. Crane, daughter of Dale and Lillian Crane, on Oct. 18, 1953. They moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1959. In 1962, they transferred to Boise while working for Albertson's. Fred left Albertson's and worked 15 years with GMAC before retiring. Fred was active in square and round dancing for many years. He enjoyed camping and was an active member of the Idaho Outdoor Association. Fred also enjoyed traveling and taking vacations with his family. In his retirement years, his wife Janice passed away, and later he fell in love with JoAnn Banks. They spent their time together enjoying golfing, dancing and traveling. They spent a lot of time in Elko, Nev., and Tucson, Ariz.
A very sweet, kind and giving man and a wonderful neighbor. He is missed by all who knew and loved him.
Fred passed away peacefully at home after a 2 year battle with Brain Cancer.
"Thanks for being a very kind and generous neighbor Fred."
