Gertrude Bozin, age 89, died Friday, February 23, 2007 at her residence in Gaylord, Michigan. She was born Gertrude Cousineau, on October 28, 1917, in Ottawa, Canada, to Soloman and Delima (Faubert) Cousineau. She had been a resident of Gaylord, and was a former resident of Troy.
Mrs. Bozin enjoyed singing – she was a former member of Troy Community Chorus. She was actively involved with M.O.M.S. (Mothers of Men in Service) for over 30 years. She also volunteered her time for over 30 years to cancer patients, by driving them to and from their appointments. She was a devout Catholic.
She enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren, and spending summers on Otsego Lake at the family cottage. She loved to drive and take road trips to see family members. As an excellent baker, she was best known for her lemon meringue pies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Joseph Bozin. She is survived by daughters, Maureen Young (Burgess), Colleen Hayse (Harold), Deborah Hayse (Timothy), and Special niece, Dolores Feeney (Michael); sons, Joseph Bozin (Lynda) and George Bozin (Jane). Eleven grandchildren, Burgess & Douglas; Wendy & Dawn; Suzanne & Jacquelan; Peter & Joanna; Cheryl, Michelle, and Marilyn
Great-grandchildren: 6. Surviving sisters, Laura Millitello, and Cecile Reich. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
