This precious baby boy is buried on a beautiful hill on his parents property. Little Ricky and his story touches my heart with sadness, love and hope. He had a weak but big heart and I know his story will steal yours. To learn more about Ricky, read his father's eulogy on this website:
Here is a sample of his words...
Prayer - Death is a reminder of who we are and who God is.
Ricky came into this world as did each of us...
With certain things pre-determined.
Ricky, like all of us, had no choice as to:
* when he would be born...
* who his parents would be...
* how many brothers and sisters he would have...
* his race, gender, color of eyes, color of hair (or in Ricky's case the lack thereof!)
* and his other physical features...
God created Ricky with a broken heart...
...with a single extra chromosome in every cell of his body...
...that would mark him and effect him for his entire life.
Ricky had no choice in this matter. He was not consulted beforehand.
He did not get to choose how long he would live.
Or how active he would be.
When we contemplate this as adults we may cry out, "It isn't fair!"
Yet children do not do this - they do not complain - they give no thought to their own disadvantage.
Jesus praises this very quality and entreats us to be like children.
Rest in sweet peace little Ricky. I'm so glad I got to meet him because even in his death he is a very powerful angel who draws you near to his heart and his beautiful story of courage.
~SPECIAL THANKS TO SHARON M. for sponsoring little Ricky's memorial. You are a true angel sweet Sharon.
