She retired in 1998 as a custodian for the Greene County Court House.
Surviving relatives inlcude: her children, Evelyn Hamm of Lyons, Marvin Anderson of Spencer and Brenda Fritz of Linton; on sister, Ruth Horn of Springville; one brother, Alpha Phegley Jr. of Michigan; her grandchildren, Shasta Anderson, Amy Kelley, Patricia Lundy, Sarah Fritz-Bowers, Robby Hamm, Jennifer Reyes, Ashley Lindauer, Niki Anderson and Garth Anderson; and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. "Dick" Anderson on April 20, 1968, one son, Roy Michael Anderson, one daughter, Linda Mae Anderson, granddaughter, Heather Dawn Fritz, eight brothers and her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Ted Fulford officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch cemetery.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Lyons Better Baseball in Helen's name.
