Dr. Scott served as Chief Surgeon of the Continental Army Hospital in Piscataway. According to his grandson, Rev. William Warren Blauvelt, in a letter written about 1875, "He was acquainted with the Log College, often spoke of their ministers, and was himself an earnest Christian- long elder in the First Presbyterian Church, to which, as I have been told, he gave the lot on which the present church edifice stands. He was a surgeon in the Revolutionary Army - was at Brandywine - Trenton -Princeton.. . ." He names the children and their spouses...
"My Grandfather Scott's residence was on the northwest corner of Albany and Neilson Street, now owned by Mr Elmendorf. . ."
