Revolutionary War. Parents according to family history are Jesse Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Merritt
The death date on the tombstone is incorrect. Mr. Alexander's death was very near 16 Jan 1837 as that is the date 3 men were appointed to appraise his estate. There is no will but the administrator notes that there are 12 legatees plus the widow. She received one-third and the others received one-twelfth each. The children aren't all listed but with more research, might all be indentified.
