died Union County SC Jesse Franklin Bailey is the son of Jonathan Norman & Delilah Susannah [Murphy] Bailey, of Union County SC. They are buried at the New Prospect Cemetery in Sedalia Union County SC.

He married his first cousin, Mary Susan [Murphy] Bailey, on Nov 11, 1858 in Union County SC.

They had the following known children:
Norman, Andrew, Infant, Ettie, Infant, Harrison, Mary, Jason, Infant, Infant. The Infants died at birth or shortly after.

Jesse's known siblings were:
Dorcas Louisa, David Harrison,
and Margaret Susan Bailey.

Jesse and his brother David served in
the Civil War. David died at Staunton VA,
during the War.

Jesse lost his arm during a battle.

He served in Co C, 18th SC Infantry Regt.,
which was assigned to the Army of Northern
Virgina, under General Lee. This unit was
engaged in all the savage battles of the War,
suffering massive casulties, his brother David
was in the same unit, when he died.
