Amos was a son of Caroline Elizabeth (Lee) & Amos Sweet Blackinton. He had 3 siblings: Edgar "Edward" Lee, Byron Francis & Clarrissa E.
Amos attended Dean Academy for three years and then became an apprentice at his uncle's (W. S. Blackinton) factory (a silberplae company).
The 1880 census states that he was living in North Attleboro and boarding at the home of William Cutler Tufts and family, along with his brother, Byron.
Amos married Susan A. Goss in 1886, Rhode Island. They had a son, Shirley Goss.
In 1887 he was living on Capron St. near South Main in Attleboro, MA. He did become a jeweler and was living at 13 Ringold St. in Providence, RI in 1900. In 1910 & 20 he is listed as living in Attleboro and still working as a jeweler.
His passport application listed him as being 5'7 1/2".
He became vice president of Briggs, Bates and Bacon on Union Street in Attleboro.
Amos died from injuries sustained in a car accident in Wareham, MA, having a heart attack in the hospital.
He also owned land in North Falmouth, MA near Old Silver Beach.
