Clinton has been my constant companion since I was 16 years old. He is like a part of the family. To me he was like my baby. I got Clint from a cousin of mine when he was 8 weeks old and he's been inside with me ever since. He was spoiled rotten. He followed me around everywhere I went. If I left the room and he wasn't paying attention that I had left, when he noticed he would just meow to the top of his lungs until I called to him, when he heard my voice he would come running to me as fast as he could. He also called me Mama ( or Meowma I should say ). Alot of people didn't believe he would call me Meowma until they would hear him do it themselves. If I was upset or crying he would come and love on me or sit with me and try to console me. Clint was almost 14 years old but he still acted like a kitten. He was as active as always. He would run thru the house like a little broncing buck. He would play all the time. He loved to play with the twisty seals off of the gallon milk jugs. Also the plastic seals off of Tylenol bottles. He had more fun with that kind of stuff than anything we ever bought him out of the store.
Clint was fine until Friday December the 7th. I noticed that morning that he was acting slightly out of sorts. He acted worse the next day. Sunday the 9th. he wasn't any better, so I had my personal vet to come to the house and check him and that's when I got the devastating news that he had a lemon sized cancerous tumor in his liver and he wouldn't make it long. I had no idea that anything was even wrong before that. There had been nothing to indicate that something was amiss except for the fact that he had started losing weight a year and a half before he got sick. I called and consulted with several different vets ( except for our personal vet ) and they all said the same thing as long as he wasn't showing any other symptoms that it wasn't nothing to be alarmed about. They all said it was just old age. I asked if there was anything else that could cause his weight loss and they all said no, which I now know was not true. Anyways, he got sick on the 7th. and he died here at home on the 12th. at 6:04 P.M. He was 13 years and 8 mos. old. His weight loss was so gradual and he still acted fine as always, so it was kind of a difficult thing to have known, I guess. My vet said that is the way cancers of the metabolic system will do. They will have gradual weight loss but usually still be okay until it gets to the final stage and that's when it takes them down and it does it quickly. The tumor overtook Clint's liver and he went into liver failure and it caused toxins to dispense all into his body, which is what helped him die so quickly. The one thing that I'm thankful for is the fact that he didn't have to suffer for a long time. From the moment he first acted out of sorts till his death, only five days passed.
Clint will always be in my heart and memory. I loved him like a baby. He is deeply missed. He was the sunshine of my life!!!!!!!!!

Cause of Death: Liver Cancer

"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge...

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted! And when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together..." Author unknown
