Mrs. Emma Martin, widow of Henry Martin, a former resident of Tippecanoe county, died at the home of her son, Homer Martin, at Osborn, OH, Wednesday. She had been ill for a year and death was due to a complication of diseases.

Mrs. Martin was born Dec. 9, 1846, near Cairo in this county and the greater part of her life was spent here. Her maiden name was Emma Jones. She was a member of the West Side Baptist church and was an ardent student of the Bible. She was a devoted wife and mother and was respect ed by all who knew her.

Surviving are four sons and a daughter, Mrs. B. F. Gates, of 328 South Grant street, West Lafayette; Edward Martin, of 443 Harrison street, West Lafayette; Claude Martin of Brookston; Homer Martin, of Toledo, OH; and Jesse Martin of Chicago, IL.

The body arrived in Lafayette Thursday morning and was taken to the home of her son, Edward Martin, where friends may call. Short services will be conducted at the house at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon and final services in the U. B. church at Montmorenci. Rev. J. N. Jessup will be in charge and interment will bo in Montmorenci cemetery.
