"Tapps" was a son of Roy and Ellen (Sandeen) Anderson. He grew up in the Gowrie and graduated from the Gowrie High School in 1942. He then served in the U.S.Navy. He started Anderson Auction Service in 1948, doing all kinds of auctions. He also sold in the Carroll, Webster City, and Humboldt sale barns. Glenn also farmed all his life in the Gowrie area. He was united in marriage with Paulyne Paap on June 24, 1952. During his career he worked with many good auctioneers and especially liked the many fund raising auctions for various churches and organizations. Tapps was a widely known sports official for high school and Jr. College backetball and high school and semi-pro baseball. Glenn was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, past president of the Iowa Autioneers Association and former president of the Federal Land Bank Board where he had served as a director for Federal Land Bank and Farm Credit for 28 years. He was an avid trapper and hunter since he was a young boy and enjoyed swapping trapping stories with friends. He was a people person and enjoyed and treasured all the many friends he met and worked with over the years.
Survivors include his wife, Paulyne of Gowrie; daughter Linda Carlson of Gowrie; grandson, Jared Carlson and grand-daughter, Jenna Carlson; sister Virginia & Don Amandus of Gowrie; nieces, nephews, many co-workers and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Curtis Anderson; son-in-law, Ted Carlson; grandson, Adam Carlson; niece and nephews.
