Jerry Antwine entered eternal rest on September 26, 2007 at the age of 63. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. An avid athlete, he participated in high school football, baseball, and track and played college baseball at Sul Ross State University. In addition he was a golfer for over 40 years. He proudly served in Vietnam and the Panama Canal Zone prior to entering education in 1971. Jerry was a teacher, coach and administrator for 30 years in the El Paso, Socorro, and San Elizario School Districts. He was a true leader, whose passion was education. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Jerry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pat, his son Scott Antwine (Carey), his daughter Kimberly Montes (Raymond), and his grandchildren Janean Cardiel, Adrienne Antwine, and Raymond Michael Montes. He is also survived by his brother Buddy Antwine (Kathy) of Bandera, Texas, and sisters Lou Hale and Wren Garcia of Benson, Arizona. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the Jerry Antwine Scholarship Fund, c/o San Elizario ISD, 1050 Chicken Ranch Road, San Elizario, TX 79849.
