John was a very kind man, we all liked him very much! John lived with my mother for over twenty years (Chloa Belle Crank Perkins). When my mother became ill, and had to be put in the nursing home, John became very depressed, they believe that some of his medicine was also making him depressed. My brother found John in his garage, he had hung himself. Not long before John passed he stopped by our house and was talking about the depression he had lived through as a young boy, he talked about the long soup line he had stood in with his family. John also was worried about the recession. John was kind and loved to garden in the summer, he treated my mother very well. My brother had went over to check on him since we knew he was depressed, but not of us relized how depressed he really was. I wish we would have known so we could have helped him more.
