Georgie Shepherd Sigsbee, 64, wife of Charles D. Sigsbee III, and daughter of George Martin Shepherd and Geneva Mason Shepherd, was born in Washington, D. C. She graduated with honors from Woodrow Wilson High School and Strayer Business College, and was a secretary with the Lend Lease Administration during World War II. She was married on August 14, 1943 at Columbus, Georgia to Charles Dwight Sigsbee III. After the death of her husband in 1956, shortly after moving to Columbia, Missouri, she raised her four daughters, and attended the University of Missouri where she graduated with A.B., B.J., and M.A. degrees. She was an instructor of history and journalism at Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri from 1970-1978. She passed away after a brief battle with cancer.
