Delores Boroski Smith, 88, of Spring Valley died Nov. 11, 2013, in Spring Valley Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Spring Valley United Church of Christ. Pastor Chuck Maney will officiate. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park at a later date.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday in Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, as well as a half hour before services Tuesday, in the church.

Delores was born March 6, 1925, in Spring Valley to Frank and Clara (Burnell) Sharkey. She married Joseph F. Boroski Sr. in October 1943. She later married Robert A. Smith in 1982.

Delores was a 1943 graduate of Hall High School. She was a lifetime member of Spring Valley United Church of Christ, where she also taught Sunday school for many years. She also made and sold thousands of pounds of peanut brittle throughout the years as part of the annual church fundraiser.

Delores was an Avon Lady for many years and knocked on every door in Spring Valley. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary for 65 years. She was the charter president of Spring Valley Senior Citizens Organization, and she was a member of Town and Country Home Extension for 42 years.
Delores was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Notre Dame football and Hall High School Red Devil fan, where for 19 years, she watched her sons playing football. She also enjoyed playing canasta.

Survivors include four sons, Joseph F. (Mary Ann) Boroski Jr. and John "Jack" (Patricia) Boroski, both of Spring Valley; Gary (Sue) Boroski of Sandy, Utah, and Frank (Glenda) Boroski of Little Elm, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; one daughter, Claire Margaret Boroski; two sons, George and Dan Boroski; one granddaughter, Dawn Marie Boroski; and one brother.
Memorials can be directed to the family.
