He was born Aug. 29, 1930, in Tiffin, to the late Wallace C. and Mary Ann (Ridge) Barger. His wife, Julia M. (Campbell) Barger, whom he married Aug. 22, 1954, in Marion, survives.
Other survivors include: a son, William Wallace (Lori) Barger Jr. of Marion; three daughters, Denise Ann (Charles) Szablewski, Diane Kay (John) Riehm and Deborah Sue (Donald) Ellis, all of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother, James E. (Kathy) Barger of Findlay; and two sisters, Joan (Raymond) Ernst of Tiffin and Patricia Schmidt of Findlay. A son, Bradley, died in 1964.
Mr. Barger, retired co-owner of Miss Julie's Restaurant, had previously owned Barger's Poultry on Second Avenue. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-53. A member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and the Tiffin Kiwanis Club, he enjoyed shuffleboard.
Public graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin, with the Rev. Scott Hayward officiating. There will be no visitation.
